Requirements:
EZClaim Advanced Release 64 or higher is required. If needed, please update your software at http://www.ezclaim.com/updates

E-Z Schedule Setup:

  1. Download and install the E-Z Schedule software
  2. Open the E-Z Schedule software
  3. Click the icon with the Computer and Screwdriver to open the configuration screen
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the configuration data
  5. Position the cursor at the end of the file and hit [Ctrl-Alt-Shift-F4] to add the following line:
    EZClaim User={CurrentUserLoginName}
  6. Click the Save button. You will need to close the E-Z Schedule program for the configuration to take affect.

IMPORTANT: If EZClaim’s database is located on a drive/directory other than C:\Program Files\EZClaim, please review the instructions below in the ‘Advanced E-Z Schedule Configuration Options’ section.

EZClaim Setup:

  1. Close EZClaim if open.
  2. Download and install the following Administration Tool:
    http://www.ezclaim.com/advanced/downloads/EZAdminTools.exe
  3. Open EZClaim.
  4. Click the Tools menu and select Global Options.
  5. Change the Enable E-Z Schedule connection to True
  6. Click 'Save and Exit'

How it Works:
When EZClaim is opened (if it's already opened, you will need to close EZClaim and reopen it), it checks for any new patients and appointments that have been entered into the E-Z Schedule program.

Any patient data entered into EZClaim will automatically appear in E-Z Schedule. Patients are imported into the previously opened patient group.

Kept appointments can be transferred to EZClaim as claims. Right-click a completed appointment in E-Z Schedule (current date included), left-click 'Appointment Status', then select 'Kept, Submit to EZClaim!' Another window will appear allowing you to enter Diagnostic codes if desired. If the diag codes are left blank, EZClaim will use the default diag codes found on the Physician/Diag screen. Click the Submit button to save the appointment.

The next time you open EZClaim, the appointment will be added as a service line to a new claim or an existing claim that has not been printed or exported. Claims will be added to the transferred patient record no matter what group they're in.

You will receive a confirmation showing the number of appointments imported into EZClaim.

How to transfer all EZClaim patient data to E-Z Schedule:
Be sure you are using EZClaim Advanced Release 59 or higher.
1. Exit the EZClaim program.
2. Hold the Ctrl and Shift keys on the keyboard.
3. Open EZClaim.
4. A message will appear asking to export all of EZClaim's active patient data in the current group.
5. Click Yes to export.

The next time you open E-Z Schedule, all the data will be transferred.

Transferred fields:
Patient First Name
Patient Last Name
Phone
Address
City
State
Zip
Patient Birth Date
Date of Service
Diagnostic Codes

Advanced E-Z Schedule Configuration Options
The following settings are available if needed. Be sure the lines are entered below the 'EZClaim User=' line in the E-Z Schedule configuration screen.

If your database is located on a server for multi-users. You will need to set the EZClaim database folder by using the following line:
Client Exchange Folder={Database Location}
IMPORTANT: If a UNC path is used, it must contain the computer name and not an IP address.

Peer to Peer Networks
If on a Peer-to-Peer network, you will need to enter the two different paths to the database directory. If the Client computer uses the Z: drive to access the database and the Master computer uses C:\Program Files\EZClaim, then use the following settings:
Client Exchange Folder=Z:\;C:\Program Files\EZClaim\

To suppress claim submission and only allow patient transfers:
EZClaim Export=NO

Troubleshooting

Confirming Correct E-Z Schedule Operation
Make sure all users have exited from EZClaim.  Using E-Z Schedule, enter a new test patient.  Once the patient data has been saved, a new file with the extension EZO will be created in EZClaim's database directory.  If an EZO file is not created, there is a configuation issue with E-Z Schedule.  If it's a multi user setup, see the Advanced Configuration Options above for the correct Client Exchange Folder setting.

Confirming Correct EZClaim Operation
Make sure all users have exited from E-Z Schedule.  Using EZClaim, enter a new test patient then click the 'New Patient' button so save the patient record.  EZClaim creates a data file called ezpatfile.ezx in the EZClaim database directory.  If this file exists, open E-Z Schedule and the ezpatfile.ezx file will be read and disappear if the E-Z Schedule program is configured properly.  If the ezpatfile.ezx is not created, then EZClaim is not configured properly.  Review the EZClaim setup above.  If the ezpatfile.ezx is created but not picked up by E-Z Schedule then most likly the Client Exchange Folder setting in E-Z Schedule is not set properly.
